Oncology Massage

A massage treatment applied with a clinical yet soothing approach. Before the massage begins, an in depth consultation is performed. An oncology massage can be applied to any patient, before, during or after receiving chemotherapy or radiation treatments. As a clinical and oncology trained massage therapist, the clinical and emotional process that a cancer patient experiences is understood. The therapist is equipped to provide the patient with safe and effective treatments for various symptoms induced by chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and emotional stress.

Here is a list of specific treatments that are designed to help cancer patients feel more at ease:

Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy Protocol - Through this technique, the capillaries that surround the damaged nerve become repaired which supply the damaged nerve with the nourishment it needs to bring back sensation. This technique must be applied on a consistent basis for 15 minutes per extremity in order to achieve it's results.

Lymph Node Removal Lymphatic Treatment - Applied to patients who have undergone lymph node removal and looking to prevent or to relieve mild lymphedema.

Scar Therapy - Helps to lessen the visibility of a scar, break up dense scar tissue and allow for greater range of motion of the joint affected. Scar therapy can be applied to any scar on the body including scaring from mastectomies and lumpectomies. Scars must be completely healed.

Tissue Mobilization - Helps improve blood flow and releases adhesions to constricted tissues including mastectomy sites.
